The college years were simple. Sure, you had bundles of homework, midterms, finals and papers to worry about, but life was a blast. You can’t tell me otherwise. I was there and saw the bliss circulating throughout the campus. And I wasn’t one of those luck few whose parents funded everything either. I had the part-time job and I did the student loan thing. But college was still fun and I’ll tell you why. You don’t have to grapple with the “real world” just yet. Nope, these are your last days before it hits you up-side the head. Oh, and of course there were all those nifty club scenes. Yeah, we can’t forget about those. Clubbing is where it’s at in college, hence all the night club promotions floating around campus.
I’m not sure what everyone else encountered at their University, but at mine, students liked to go to the local bars and clubs on a regular basis. Friday and Saturday nights were always booming with college students. But they weren’t even the BIG night of the week. No sir, that was Thursday. I know what you may be thinking. Thursday? What’s so great about that particular day? Well, in our neck of the woods, Thursday meant a discount on drinks. You better believe this brought out all the partying students. Also, keep in mind that my school was not located on one of those traditional campuses with huge green lawns and other University traditional hoopla. We were smack-dab in the city and we loved it. There were plenty of places to go for lunch and all the local clubs were nearby. I can still recall seeing night club promotions stapled to poles and billboards around campus. And we definitely responded to these babies. If you ask me, these night club owners were smart. What better crowd to appeal to, than a bunch of wild students?
Take a stroll around your campus. You’re bound to spots some night club promotions. Get the scoop on the best hot spots in your area. It’s no secret that this is where the fun’s at. But before you take of to a local club, get a group of friends to go with you. This is not just for safety reasons, but also for fun purposes as well. It stinks to be stuck alone in these social meccas.
Marigolds, roses or tulips are all beautiful flowers. Most women would love receiving any of them on a special day, perhaps her birthday, anniversary or retirement. But many people send a flower arrangement simply to make someone special smile. It can be a wonderful way of telling your wife, mother or best friend that you appreciate her and value her presence in your life. With the Internet at your fingertips finding and sending a special bouquet has never been simpler. You don’t even need to call a floral shop to send a flower arrangement any longer. You can do it all from the comfort of your computer.
This includes picking out exactly the type of arrangement you want. It might be tulips in a very tall vase or colorful daises sitting in a wicker basket. If you want to send a flower bouquet to someone, you are certain to find one that will fit the occasion and her personality perfectly. I also begin with a quick search for floral shops in the same neighborhood as the person I’m sending flowers to. Some of the larger floral distributors allow you to order online and they arrange for delivery in the area you specify. This works well, but if you are looking for a more personal approach you can probably find a small shop in the area that will create a bouquet to your specifications to send.
When I’m thinking of this type of gift, I always try to consider what the recipient likes. If I know what her favorite flower is, I’ll ask that it’s the focal point of the arrangement. It doesn’t need to be a huge bouquet to make a woman feel special. If she’s having a bad day, a few carnations can bring a smile to her face. If she’s suffering from a cold, a bunch of lilies tied together with a ribbon will make her forget she’s ill. It’s all about creating something memorable and unexpected.
If you are ordering online make certain that you specify what you want the card to say. Being a woman I can assure you that the card is one of the most important aspects when you are going to send a flower arrangement. The card lets us know who was thinking of us and it makes a lovely keepsake to remember the bouquet.
Unless she’s in and out of her home or office quite a bit during the day, don’t let the person receiving the flowers know they are coming. It’s such a wonderful surprise to open the door to see a delivery person holding a bouquet of flowers for you. Their aroma, their beauty and the thought behind it always brightens the day of the person you send a flower arrangement to.
